Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine milk and breadcrumbs and let sit for a minute to soak.
  • Add ground beef, diced onion, eggs, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Mix gently with hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Transfer the mixture to a 9x5-inch loaf pan or shape it into a free-form loaf on a rimmed baking sheet, smoothing the top.
  • Spread a generous layer of ketchup over the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to prevent a tough meatloaf. Allow to rest after baking for cleaner slices.
