  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning Herb blend for flavor enhancement.

  • 0.5 cup beef broth or water Keeps everything moist during baking.
  • 0.25 cup milk (optional) For added creaminess.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle in the olive oil. Add ground beef, breaking apart with a wooden spoon and cooking until browned for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion softens for about 3-4 minutes.

Layering

  • Spread the ground beef mixture evenly across the bottom of your greased baking dish.
  • Arrange the thinly sliced potatoes on top, and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Pour the beef broth (or water) around the edges of the casserole, and drizzle with milk if desired.

Baking

  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to swap out potatoes for cauliflower to make it low-carb. Adjust the kind of cheese to your liking for added flavor.
