  • 2 large eggs These act as a binding agent and add moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda This helps the cookies rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional) Adds personal touch; can omit for classic cookies.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  • Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes
