Seafood Lasagna

Ingredients
  

Lasagna Components

  • 9 sheets lasagna noodles Preferably no-boil variety.
  • 3 cups marinara sauce Use a homemade version or your favorite jarred brand.

Cheese Mixture

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese Creamy and rich, optional to mix in lemon zest.
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Whole milk mozzarella is recommended.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Don’t skimp on the quantity for best flavor.

Seafood and Extras

  • 2 cups mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, crab) Fresh is preferred, but frozen works if thawed properly.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Can customize with personal favorite herbs.
  • to taste salt and pepper Add as needed.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook lasagna noodles per package instructions (about 8-10 minutes), drain and rinse with cool water.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, Italian seasoning, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Assembly

  • Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Layer noodles, spread half of the ricotta mixture, then half of the seafood. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles topped with remaining marinara.
  • Top with the rest of the mozzarella cheese.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

Seafood lasagna tastes better the next day. You can also prepare it in advance and freeze before baking.
