Kiwi Sorbet

This refreshing, tangy kiwi sorbet is made with ripe kiwis, a splash of lime, and just enough sugar for a naturally vibrant, healthy frozen treat. It's dairy-free, vegan, and perfect for hot days or a light, fruity finish to any meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 large ripe kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (or lemon juice)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (optional)
  • as desired fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Set aside to cool and form a simple syrup.
  • Add peeled, chopped kiwis to a blender or food processor with lime juice and lime zest (if using). Puree until smooth.
  • Add the cooled simple syrup to the kiwi puree and blend again until fully combined. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a sorbet consistency, about 20–25 minutes.
  • Transfer sorbet to an airtight freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours, until firm.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the blended mixture into a shallow pan, freeze, and stir with a fork every 30–60 minutes until slushy and set.
  • Let sorbet sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping. Serve in bowls or cones, garnished with mint, lime zest, or kiwi slices if desired.
