  • 2 large eggs Bind the mixture together.
  • 0.5 cup milk Whole milk is preferred but any kind works.

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds aroma.
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently to avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the blueberries gently with a spatula.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftovers tightly wrapped at room temperature for a day or two. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze slices wrapped in foil or plastic wrap. Microwave slices for 20-30 seconds to reheat.
