  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh cloves are best.
  • 1 each Lemon juice and zest Substitute lime if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Avoid cheap oils for better flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh herbs (parsley) Can substitute with thyme or rosemary.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential seasonings.

Preparation

  • Chop up the garlic, zest your lemon, and squeeze out the lemon juice. Place ingredients in small bowls for easy access.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Sauté garlic for about a minute, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Add chicken breasts to the pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip chicken, add lemon juice and zest, and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Sprinkle chopped herbs over the cooked chicken and give a gentle stir.
  • Transfer the chicken to a plate, optionally garnishing with lemon slices.

Notes

For best results, marinate chicken in lemon juice and garlic for an hour before cooking. To enhance flavor, pound chicken breasts for a crispy texture. You can add a splash of cream for a richer sauce if desired.
