  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed Look for high-quality puff pastry for the best flaky results. Preferably brands without preservatives.
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) Alternatively, use a splash of milk if you're out of eggs.
  • 4 oz brie cheese, sliced Choose a nice soft brie for the best melting and flavor.
  • 1/3 cup whole berry cranberry sauce Store-bought or homemade; whole berry is preferred for texture.
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves Substitute with dried thyme if needed, using less.

Preparation Stages

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet.
  • Cut the pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  • At one end of each strip, place a slice of brie cheese, a spoonful of cranberry sauce, and a sprinkle of thyme.
  • Fold the pastry strip over to encase the filling and twist the ends to create a spiral shape.
  • Place the twists on a lined baking sheet and brush the tops with egg wash.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  • Let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the oven for the best texture. You can also prepare these ahead of time and refrigerate uncooked.
