Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Choose your favorite brand; prefer the best price-to-flavor ratio.
  • 1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk Adds moisture and sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream For whipped texture in the filling.
  • 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder Intensifies the chocolate flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream Star ingredient for richness.

For the Frosting

  • 1 cup butter (room temperature) Unsalted preferred for creamy frosting.
  • 5 cups powdered sugar For sweetness and structure.
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream For the frosting.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder Balances the sweetness of the frosting.
  • 1 tsp. vanilla Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt Balances sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs according to package instructions. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the soaking mixture by combining sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, dark cocoa powder, and 1/4 cup of Baileys in a mixing bowl.
  • Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the top and drizzle the soaking mixture over it generously.

Frosting

  • In a separate bowl, beat the room temperature butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, 1/2 cup Baileys, vanilla, and salt until you achieve a smooth frosting.
  • Frost the cooled cake generously with the chocolate frosting.

Serving

  • Slice the cake and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For best results, let the cake sit before cutting to allow flavors to meld. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
